The lockdown has shaped me as an artist. I work as a programmer. At the beginning of lockdown, I was depressed staying home all the time since I'm used to travelling, talking and working around with people. While, every cloud has a silver lining. Covid is a horrible virus, but working from home saved a lot of commute time. "Why not take the opportunity to do something I have been dreaming of?" So I started painting. In high school, I gave up the career as an artist to become an engineer; In the past, I had no time to paint since I was busy with work and family. However, I'd never given up on my dream.
I love oil painting because of the smooth and bold texture. You can tell the emotions of the artist feels through their painting in every single brush stroke, which separates human art from computers. I love the beauty of both organic human work and logical technology work, which seem like opposites, but actually aren't. Painting makes me concentrate and relax. I started loving staying home, and being able to manage the balance of work, paint, and spend time with my family. Keep watching my page, I am making progress and I will keep improving my art.
Painting has cured me and I hope my painting will cure others.
